> In today's episode, Jack sits down with David from Queer Satanic to talk about SLAPP suits, and how much satanism is "too much" Satanism. We also find the oversized belt buckle in the bible belt.

Thank you to Jack and Free Society Satanists of the @globalorderofsatan for having me (David) on to talk about anarchism, Satanism, and what "Queer Satanic" is and might one day be.

Some context for what happened at the Kansas State Capitol between members of The Satanic Grotto and their attackers as Satanists performed a Black Mass is defiance of Christian nationalists and the law.

Important contextual information here is that Schroeder is a "Warrior for Christ" Christian extremist already arrested once for calling in a bomb threat on a Pride event in Wisconsin a couple years ago, not just "some helpful guy":

> Online records showed that Stewart, 42, was jailed briefly Friday afternoon on suspicion of disorderly conduct and having an unlawful assembly, then released on $1,000 bond.
>
> The Kansas Highway Patrol, which provides security at the Statehouse, said two others who entered the building with Stewart also were arrested for unlawful assembly, Jocelyn Frazee, 32, and Sean Anderson, 50. Frazee had no bond set; information for Anderson was not available online.
>
> Witnesses and friends identified the young man trying to snatch away the Black Mass script as Marcus Schroeder, who came to counterprotest with fellow members of a Kansas City-area church. Online records show Schroeder, 21, was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, with his bond also set at $1,000.
>
> A friend of Schroeder’s, Jonathan Storms, said he was trying to help a woman who also sought to snatch away Stewart’s script and “didn’t throw any punches.”

The Satanic Temple is very bad at court cases.

A federal district court judge in New York today sided with the online magazine Newsweek against The Satanic Temple, a tax-exempt church, finding there was no basis by the nontheistic religious organization to continue the defamation case against the publisher.

queersatanic.com/the-satanic-t

This should be the end of a case that started either three or five years ago, depending on what you want to start counting by.

The Satanic Temple sued the Newsweek and its reporter Julia Duin in February 2022 in retaliation for Duin writing and Newsweek publishing a critical article about TST in October 2021; that article centered on TST suing four former Washington State members in April 2020. That is, us. The Temple repeatedly lost their lawsuits against us over the next four-plus, the final one ending in October 2024.

Also, it's not official yet, but "Satanic Temple’s Idaho Abortion Ban Appeal Looks Likely to Fail"

Title comes from this Bloomberg writeup that probably is paywalled, but is pretty negative:
news.bloomberglaw.com/health-l

> A panel of Ninth Circuit judges on Wednesday appeared unlikely to give the Satanic Temple another shot at suing Idaho over measures that bar it from providing abortion care to members in the state.
>
> Questions of the group’s standing to sue—personal, associational, organizational, or otherwise—dominated the oral arguments, with Judge M. Margaret McKeown asking attorneys for both sides to clarify how the Satanic Temple can proceed when it hasn’t named any member who lives in Idaho, is pregnant, and wants to end the pregnancy.
>
> It can’t, state’s attorney Alan Hurst told the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
>
> But W. James Mac Naughton, a private practitioner in Newton, N.J., representing the Satanic Temple, said there’s a “statistical probability” that such a person exists. In his analysis, at least three people in Idaho currently are being harmed by laws that prevent the Satanic Temple from setting up a clinic or mailing abortion-inducing pills into the state, he said.
>
> Without a name, however, there’s no way to show the Satanic Temple’s claimed harm is anything more that pure speculation, Hurst said.
>
> Judge John B. Owens didn’t have any substantive questions for the attorneys, while Judge Ronald M. Gould stayed silent.

It goes on about some more of the background, but you can also just see all of their cases on The.Satanic.Wiki.

This Courthouse news article should be fully accessible and also characterizes it similarly:
courthousenews.com/idaho-says-

> “This case is about coerced motherhood and money,” James Mac Naughton, an attorney representing the Satanic Temple, told the court.
>
> But before Mac Naughton got too far into his argument, U.S. Circuit Judge Mary McKeown questioned him about the Temple’s standing.
>
> “Maybe you can explain to me what have you alleged that give you the predicates of associational standing?” Bill Clinton appointee asked.

Anton LaVey plagiarized* "Might Is Right" for "The Satanic Bible" — here's the proof

queersatanic.com/anton-lavey-p

Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan, directly lifted passages from the 19th century proto-fascist book "Might Is Right" by “Ragnar Redbeard” (Arthur Desmond) and did so extensively and without credit to produce a substantial part of LaVey’s most famous and popular work "The Satanic Bible".

This has been known for a very long while, although most Satanists tend not to be aware of just how shamelessly and thoroughly this work was done.

This article demonstrates exactly that.

Nazi Satanists are real — and are really Satanists

queersatanic.com/nazi-satanist

There’s an unfortunate tendency of people to say:

a) “Satanist”/“Satanic” to just mean “thing I don’t like”;
b) “(nazi) SATANISTS? how alarming!” missing what’s truly harmful here;
c) “Those are fake satanists. Only Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan…”; or
d) “Real Satanists are the good guys — more Christlike than Christians, even”

Your mileage may vary on which of these misconceptions is the worst as it likely is highly context dependent. But if you are in liberal and leftist spaces, it’s likely you’re going to be running into Option D most, and yes, that one is also quite bad.

Here's a short write-up we did with more context on @globalorderofsatan's newest local in the USA, this one an anarcho-satanist group in the Southeast: Free Society of Satanists.

queersatanic.com/the-free-soci

For us, the exciting part of this story is seeing more people kind of take satanism into their own hands and create something they want to be a part of.

Satanism doesn't *need* to be incorporated; the Left-Hand Path doesn't need to be an Ltd. with a boss or owner.

People can do better (together).

Queer Satanic · The Free Society Satanists joins Global Order of Satan as "GOS:Resurgens"The Free Society of Satanists is the third local group to join the Europe-centered Satanic organization "Global Order of Satan," which was founded in June 2018 as one of many splinter factions breaking away from The Satanic Temple in that year.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to make some type of alter-ego for spiritual reasons hmm.

Wish I could have a "bible study" with someon, but instead of bible it would be "theistic satanism, dmeonology or smth similar to that study"
