Follow up. Ran into a very helpful SPU employee on the street. He made some calls and figured out it was the fire department doing hydrant testing. He cracked open the closest hydrant and purged some water, clearing things up quickly. So, no, the tapwater didn't turn into IPA in the brewery district #seattle #ballard

hi! im rachael, i am a trans woman trapped in a red state (indiana) alongside my disabled partner @mosscovered and our two dogs. i was fired for being trans and no one local will hire me for the same reason. i am desperately seeking work that can help us move out of state.
while i valiantly continue my job search though, we need to keep a roof over our head, pay utilities, buy food for us and the dogs... it adds up really fast and we really need help to hold on to that tenuous safety. anything you can give us really, truly helps.

also, i have a decade of experience in fullstack software development and have led teams and projects as a senior dev. if you have any remote positions available, i am desperate. my programming background is mostly in php/js but i am a fast learner and can pick up your tech stack right away. i will also happily take junior roles if it keeps me housed and potentially can get me out to #seattle . so do not hesitate to reach out if you have something i could do.
i also need to replace my car battery today. i dont know how much those cost but it's more than what i have.

People on the ground posted these pictures showing cops menacing over beach goers, ensuring that they are dressed at Seattle's longest running nude beach.
Ok more updates.
It seems -everyone- at the park were told to get dressed and a small number of people refused.
The person who refused the most was threatened with arrest and eventually was given a trespass and is barred from entering the park for a week.
SPD says they had to do it because this homeowner(or their security guard) complained.
According to eye witnesses there are now three SPD squad cars on the scene and at least one person is being forced by the cops to get dressed.
Scanner listeners posted this audio clip of a supervisor being requested at Denny Blaine Park just moments ago.
There seems to be a grassroots consensus growing encouraging people to drop everything and GO GET NAKED at Denny Blaine right now.
Which honestly it's otherwise a nice day for it.

It seems a single cop showed up and tried to tell people they could not be naked at all in Denny Blaine Park.
This sparked MANY beach goers to argue with the cop about his request.
Comrades listening to scanners indicate more cops were enroute to Denny Blaine.
I'm hearing from some allegedly naked bathers that cops began raiding Denny Blaine Park this afternoon around 2:30 pm.
Skinny dipping at Denny Blaine is a well known Seattle summer tradition. Public nudity remains legal in Seattle, though the cops are increasing arresting people anyways for arbitrary "public lewdness" claims.
But if signing up for an org and getting on mailing list isn't your speed, please just look over the city council's calendar and agendas and signup for public comment or directly check in with your legislator at whatever level you are able (email / call / in person).
If you've never gone to a city council meeting, this is a great time to do it.

The most likely outcomes from this all is that our corrupt city council members who are landlords will significantly benefit from not having to recuse from all manor of legislation & public planning.

Next Week Seattle City Council is expected to change the ethics code in an alarming way.
The are planning on deleting economic conflicts of interest as a reason council members would be required to recuse from a vote.
It would be a good week to consider attending a city council meeting or emailing your (likely very terrible) council person and tell them to stop being so fucking corrupt.
