SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health reports an unvaccinated child in DonÞa Ana County has been diagnosed with measles – the first measles case in that county.
The DonÞa Ana County case plus four additional cases among unvaccinated people in Lea County brings the total number of measles cases in New Mexico to 63.
"On four separate occasions, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Health and Human Services secretary, has suggested that the measles outbreak in Texas, which is now over 500 cases, is beginning to subside and grow more slowly. But a review of state data indicates there’s no decline yet in the pace of cases."
@QueenOfTheCroneAge Reminder for older adults: If you received a #measles #vaccine between 1963-1968, you should ask your doctor about getting an #MMR vaccine. One type of vaccine during those years no longer gives an effective immune response in later years.
