On the day the #Maxell blank #cassettes arrived I tried to see if if the new-to-me #Pioneer CT-300 #cassette player from the #80s still records fine.
It's going to need some work. The seller sadly somewhat "oversold" its working condition. Fortunately it's fairly easy to find replacement belts, I just need to wait a bit.

Photo showing the audio corner in my home office, with an Audio Technica record player (model AT-LPW40WN) standing atop a Pioneer 80s HiFi cassette player (model CT-300), with Stax Headphones (or "ear speakers," as the company likes to call them) with accompanying amplifier (models SR-404 and SRM-006t, respectively). To the side of the cassette player is a stack of five blank cassette tape cases, four of which are still shrink wrapped. The fifth is currently in the player, which has a small red light on indicating it is currently recording. Further to the left of the blank cassettes the "Midnights" LP album by Taylor Swift is laying, right in front of a candle light that is turned on. On the wall behind all this a metal wireframe on which a handful of photos are attached. Most every photo is of Yamgom, our black chow-chow mix dog in various poses and wearing various accessories. The overall mood of the photo gives me a sort of 90s nostalgic vibe, in large part due to the prevalence of physical objects that in the modern day more often than have become fully digital (photos, music).

Someone broke into our van and ripped out our stereo (Android Auto) and cut all the wires. I decided to "downgrade" to a simple bluetooth radio & backup cam. It was tedious identifying each wire, but I managed to stayed patient. Lots of testing with the multimeter 🙂. I got it all working! The installer wanted $2k, but I was able to do it for ~$140.

Developed during live performances before recording began, it was conceived as a concept album that would focus on the pressures faced by the band during their arduous lifestyle, and also deal with the mental health problems of the former band member #SydBarrett, who had departed the group in 1968. New material was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) in London.

EYE IN THE SKY; The Alan Parsons Project were a British rock band formed in London in 1975. ts core membership consisted of producer, audio engineer, musician and composer #AlanParsons, and singer, songwriter and pianist #EricWoolfson. They shared writing credits on almost all of their songs, with Parsons producing or co-producing all of the recordings, while being accompanied by various session musicians, some relatively consistent.

iPhone 16 can make ‘Spatial Photos and videos,
A ‘stereo’ computational photography enabled & developed by Apple for viewing in the Vision Pro, to allow casual ‘content’ creation for possible Vision Pro customers.

An iPhone in landscape orientation is also nearly ideal for viewing a stereo pair by visual fusion.

Has anyone developed an *iPhone* app that can view/preview the stereo pair on the iPhone itself as two separate side by side images?
