Anyone know someone with an MA in Musicology/Theory/etc?

Stockholm U has a 4 year funded PhD spot at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics, starting this fall.

Swedish language skills are NOT a prerequisite.

I’m thinking this could be a good opportunity to get out of Dodge for anyone stuck in the US…

Ask me questions if you’re curious.

And please #PassItOn

Anyone being removed because they are good at their job by orange cheeto, shadow organization, nonprofit, ask for funds FBI CDC etc! some of us can help with funding. Save the data, some of us can help with that. See you in 2 or 4 years maybe the sht for brains would no longer be an issue? #PassItOn sorry if this is obvious

The #defcon32 presentations are now live and availablle for your perusal on the #DEFCON media server, free of all commercials, data capture or pesky algorithms. We suggest clearing some disk space and personal time this weekend to snatch up some of the many, many jewels our speakers dropped in Las Vegas. While you’re on media.defcon.org you can also find the slide decks, a ton of pictures and even the DC32 soundtrack. Enjoy, learn a few things and #passiton.

We’ll be posting the videos on YouTube Monday.

Mindless games
Counting sheep as a concept for relaxation never worked for me because a numeric inventory feels to my brain like a serious task. One “game” I have used with zero stakes (to me) was just coming up with strings of words:
Sassafras
Xylophone
Arrivederci
Bottleneck
Unlimited
Harpsichord
Huntress Wizard
Salivary
Onomatopoeia
Perspicacious
Breathe
Ferry
Merry

Etc.

@vlrny
I’m promoting the idea of sharing any generally pleasant thought and ending with a prompt:

My grandmother used to always have ICE MILK in the freezer & that’s something I’ve never seen as an adult.

Please reply with anything at all. Possibilities: Have you had a class or a job that was more fun than work?

(I removed the hashtag ChainLetter because that implies tagging others. That’s a possibility but I want to see what happens organically.)

@vlrny I think a fun tag to promote #SafeSharing might be something like #ChainLetter or #PassItOn. The idea being that people would share totally random things like:

I used to hunt shark’s teeth but it frustrated me and hurt my neck spending all my time at the beach intently looking down so now my goal is to pick up any broken shells that catch my eye.

Please reply with your own random fact. Suggestions: food or a childhood vacation.

I got a computer for my kids for Christmas. I've been setting it up for them, and they really like playing retro games. So, in addition to RetroArch and a bunch of old console games, I also installed @scummvm@corteximplant.com with a handful of adventure games that I've loved since I was a kid (Monkey Island, King's Quest, Maniac Mansion).

I'm looking for suggestions for other ScummVM compatible games that adventurous kids might like that may be less well known.

Any point and click adventure games you played as a kid that you could recommend?
