#Monocles verlangt hingegen garkeine Daten und erlaubt anonymes Bezahlen per #Monero & #CashByMail !

@froge @fj I'm not replacing @signalapp with "random tools" but good options.

Like @delta & @thunderbird as well as @monocles / #monoclesChat & @gajim which work flawlessly over @torproject / #Tor using @tails / @tails_live / #Tails and @guardianproject / #Orbot respectably.

• Also these allow not only #SelfHosting but just work and I'd highly recommend #monocles as a hoster which finances iself by users paying and allows #anonymous accoubts & payments including not just #Monero but also #CashByMail!

Considering the costs of even acquiring and upkeeping an #anonymous #SIM, I'd rather pay €2 p.m. for #XMPP+#OMEMO and #PGP/MIME-supported #eMail with the option of self-custody than $2,50+ p.m. just to keep a phone number.

@ity #webxdc is a shared spec and joint impelemntation with eg #cheogram and #monocles ... It has nothing to do with proton. Webxdc apps are shared in a chat and run inside the messenger. Proton does not have a messenger. Webxdc apps work on all platforms that #webxdc messengers are released for, including @deltatouch , an Ubuntu based phone. DeltaTouch runs all webxdc apps including the realtime p2p ones. @lk108 is doing an incredible job :)

• Nutzung von @torproject #Tor wird nicht verhindert oder blockiert; @guardianproject / #Orbot wird unterstützt!

• In #Deutschland gibt's immernoch #Rechtsstaatlichkeit, anders als in den #USA!

• Anders als #Signal ist #monocles ehrlich, was Sicherheit und Datenschutz angeht...

Ich denke mal das sollte hinreichend meine Argumebte darlegen.

@lauren I disagree as @signalapp requires a #PhoneNumber = #PII & cost barrier and they restrict access based off #PhoneNumbers.

• Plus it's illegal in an increasing number if juristictions to gmeven attempt to acquire a phone number or SIM anonymously.

Whereas it's so easy and fast to get #TechIlliterates setup with #XMPP+#OMEMO (which uninke #Signal doesn't demand PII!) that I'd challenge you to a #speedrun with step-by-step documentation for every #TechIlliterate to follow along to setup Signal from scratch vs. me doing #XMPP+#OMEMO on @monocles @gajim.
