Once you slid the power button to the On position, you heard a constant whirring sound of plastic gears turning and twisting. And if you tried to push it past its boundaries, it twitched and protested with a jarring “CLICK … CLICK … CLICK.”

"It wasn’t just kids who found the Armatron so special. It was featured on the cover of the November/December 1982 issue of Robotics Age magazine, which noted that the $31.95 toy (about $96 today) had “capabilities usually found only in much more expensive experimental arms.”

Another obscure disc I have: the Amon Saga from 1986.
The front features a beautiful, gothic lithograph from Yoshitaka Amano. You can also see Amano's influence in the character design in the animation.
This basic, high fantasy story is a little more style than substance. But having the physical copy, you can see what a beautiful piece of art it is.
Instead of an obi, we've also got a corner talker, which is unusual.

5/ I use brass polish to clean a lot of faceplates, mostly because I once lived in an apartment with all brass door hardware, still have the polish, and one day decided to give it a go.
I’m sure there’s a better thing to use, and someone may tell me why using it is a terrible terrible thing, but it’s doing a heck of a job getting decades of cigarette smoke off the face of this thing, even on translucent plastic.
