The Alan Parsons Project was a British rock band formed in London in 1975. Its core membership consisted of producer, audio engineer, musician and composer Alan Parsons, and singer, songwriter and pianist Eric Woolfson. They shared writing credits on almost all of their songs, with Parsons producing or co-producing all of the recordings, while being accompanied by various session musicians, some relatively consistent.

… Time, flowing like a river
time, beckoning me
who knows when we shall meet again
if ever
but time
keeps flowing like a river
to the sea
Goodbye my love,
maybe for forever
goodbye my love,
the tide waits for me
who knows when we shall meet again
if ever
but time
keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
to the sea, to the sea
Till it's gone forever
gone forever

„Gaudi“ is the 10th and last studio album from the Alan Parsons Project. It was released in 1987 and is dedicated to the Spanish architect with that name. In Spain it was a success, in other counties not so much.

Let‘s conclude this little project with the voice of Eric Wolfson, the second mastermind behind the Alan Parsons Project and the song „Closer to Heaven“:

In the end of 1985 the Alan Parsons Project published it‘s 9th studio album: „Stereotomy“. Compared to previous albums it was not particularly successful.

For the instrumental piece „Where's the Walrus“ the band was nominated for a Grammy award in 1987.

The most famous song might be „Limelight“. I like that song but for this little project I‘ll only post one song per album. So deal with it. :)

„Amonia Avenue“ was planned as double album. Since that didn’t happen, the songs for the 2nd LP were released in 1985 as „Vulture Culture“, the eighth album of the Alan Parsons Project. I think that’s a bit unfair, since it definitively has a character of its own.

The A side feels like radio audience was in mind. The B side is a bit more experimental, „Somebody out there“ for instance.

In 1984 the Alan Parsons Project released their seventh Album: „Amonia Avenue“. It‘s circles around the topic of industrialisation and was the bands commercially most successful album.

„Prime Time“ is the first track of the album and to me it‘s condensed 80s sound :)

The most famous song on this album is probably „Don’t answer me“, it’s fifth track.

I was really looking forward to this one: „Eye in the Sky“ is the sixth Studio album of the Alan Parsons Project and was released in 1982.

The album contains a lot of bangers like „Sirius“, „Eye in the Sky“ and „Old and Wise“. It’s totally worth the 42 minutes to listen it through.

It‘s quite probable that you know „Sirius“, maybe not by name. It‘s been heavily used in sports and other events.

„The Turn of a Friendly Card“ was the fifth album of The Alan Parsons Project and was released in 1980. It was quite successful and sold over 2 million copies.

Personally in don’t fancy the songs on the A side too much. The songs seem somewhat too jazzy to me. Anyways, the 16 minute lasting final track that lends the album it’s name is totally worth listening.

„Eve“ was the fourth studio album of the Alan Parsons Project. It was released in 1979 and is the first album that has not been recorded in the Abbey Road studio.

The critical reception was mixed, yet it was a commercial success. Especially the instrumental opening track called „Lucifer“ was widely known. The German politics TV magazine „MONITOR“ uses a remix as opening since 1983.

Today‘s album is „I Robot“. It was released in 1977 and circles thematically around Robots and a vision of the future. Inspiration for this album was Isaac Asomov‘s short story collection.

The album itself is quite a mix of different styles. It’s sometimes jazzy, sometimes symphonic, sometimes spherical. I don’t find it easy to listen to, but it‘s worth working on it.

Sometimes things meet your bucket list criteria and you didn't even know they were available. For instance the musician Alan Parson was famous for not touring, everything he did was recorded and on an album. So imagine my surprise to hear he would be playing in my home town. We splurged for row D orchestra seats at the Smith Center which were excellent. More room than first class, a great view of the stage, and excellent sound. Worth it!
