The song was regularly played live and was the basis for much longer and more intense performances. On this date in 1970 I was about to begin my senior year of high school in Fayetteville, NC. That night I attended a concert where the headliners were Canned Heat. But, I was there to see the warm up act, The Allman Brothers Band. They would return 6 months later as the headliners.
