Davidl've been working on reticello recently and tried to layer silver leaf in between the cups (a good suggestion from Bill Gudenrath). The silver is beautiful and makes the blank super reflective. Some of this is lost as the blank is blown out, so l have to keep playing with it. Started this piece with a little struggle, loosing five canes on the second rollup, but kept moving forward for practice. Now, off to its new owner. DavidI've been working on some more technical skills haven't used in a while. Got to do a few solo rollups and supio cups. Process is basically taking a glass rod and covering it in clear, then pulling it so it's a thin cane. Finally, I put the canes together and heat them so they stick together and be rolled up on a blowpipe and then I cut that roll up into supio cups that I gather glass over and blow out. It's beer challenging but fun. Some failures and learning, but the successes have boosted my spirits in this tough time. This was my fave #ArtPiece at #ArtisTree yesterday ❤️

Tanya Bub is an #EcoArtist who creates #sculptures of animals and people from #FoundWood and #RecycledMaterials. A signature feature of her work is making inanimate objects appear to be so alive that is it almost impossible to resist the feeling that there is a living being present.

This piece of art is called, Sitting With Grace - created in 2023.
