TBT 16 years ago I left the company I had started with a partner, then sold, then watched fail. Long story. I was on a trip to NYC to see about a new venture when I took a detour up into Vermont where I had worked as a counselor at a Quaker camp thirty years earlier. This is from a hike in that area, where I began to reconnect with my roots.

One of the super weird things about #Vermont is that #potluck dinners are super popular here (in my youth, we called them "covered dish suppers", which is a mouthful). I tend not to go to them, because I don't have a lot of money, and I don't want to feel bad for showing up with nothing or a bag of chips or something. I also don't have anything suitable for carrying something I could make at home on my #bicycle. I'm beginning to understand why casseroles have always been popular at potlucks.

I saw an interesting documentary on PBS this evening about Front Porch Forum, a small social media platform in Vermont which connects people to those living near them.
