Is this real?
Does this sound real? If a US company ships to Canada expecting the customer to pay tariffs & they don’t, the US company gets hit with tariffs just to receive the return??

“So the weirdest thing happened, I had received an email from #UPS stating that they have a package that needs to be returned back to us because a customer in #Canada who ordered from us flat out refused to pay the usual custom fees & duties plus the #tariff costs. Even I thought the amount sounded outrageous and someone was lying so I contacted the customer and she stated they wanted an additional $100 for the products and she didn’t realize how much or how high the costs were due to the tariffs and proceeded to ask us for a refund. I said even though we never allow refunds on cosmetics, we will make an exception this one time minus all the shipping costs and fees if any. I proceeded to call ups and tell them to go ahead and return the package back to us and we approve UPS to go back into our account again and take the return shipping fee this time around for $38 “Return Shipping Costs” to the USA, I explained to ups that we are going to get our money back through the customers refund. The UPS Rep said, “I hope her refund is big enough to cover all cost because $38 is just for the return shipping, we Will also Need the #customs fees, duty taxes & any #import #fees for this box to be shipped back to The United States”.. Total costs: $169 - I couldn’t believe it and said this is something I’ve never experienced or had to deal with in the 7 years I’ve been in business shipping worldwide! So I told UPS to just keep it or Destroy it! At the end it was not worth us paying out all that money to Ship these two little skincare items back to the USA that were worth $50 bucks Each. I explained to the customer there is no zero funds being returned to her and after all fees have been calculated, we would have owed her five dollars for a refund if that. so refusing the package is the worst thing you can do cause now you are out the money and the products just like we are.”

#ups recently laid off about 20,000 workers, and I personally went down to the main port near #losangeles to see how things are going, a port that would typically be JAMMED PACKED, and it had barely any new shipping coming in compared to what it was last time I went down that way.

A friend of mine in Seattle said something similar of their port.

Truckers are losing work left and right.

Manufacturing is massively slowing too.

Hello DuckDuckFedi, we are looking for a UPS for our little home server collections, would you have some recommendations? :dragn_heart: :boosts_ok:

It should be able to communicate on the network that it is running on battery

Thank you!

And it begins. Who's gonna handle Amazon packages now? Is this the end of free shipping? They sure twist to not blame the trade war.

WOWT · UPS to cut 20,000 jobs, close 70 facilities as it reduces amount of Amazon shipments it handlesBy Associated Press

"United Parcel Service on Tuesday said it would slash 20,000 jobs and shut 73 facilities...

"The move comes as Trump's aggressive trade policies have begun slowing economic growth and increasing expectations for a possible recession.

"'The world hasn't been faced with such enormous potential impacts to trade in more than 100 years,' CEO Carol Tome said on the company's earnings call."

Had a friendly chat with the person at the collection point and apparently this is structural and there is a very simple reason: the driver doesn’t have time to deliver things as he has a health club membership just opposite the collection store. Awesome! #Ups

Wait, #UPS just charged me 30 bucks to NOT delivery my package?! What an awesome service!

Insert email here that they tried, which they very obviously did not as a. I am at the delivery address and b. The doorbell and the camera on the door did not see or feel them.

Ich hantiere am Kaffeeautomat. Frau kommt dazu und ich spüre, sie will gerade womansplainen.

Ich gereizt: "Was denn jetzt schon wieder? Ich weiß genau was ich tue. Ich habe schon sehr oft Kaffee gemacht."

Sie dreht sich wortlos um und geht (wobei ich das dröhnende Schulterzucken deutlich vernommen habe).

Ich sehe nach unten und höre sofort auf zu versuchen den Kaffee zu schäumen und nehme stattdessen das Töpfchen mit Hafermilch.
