Quai N - Gare de Lyon - Nouvel épreuvage.

Le premier épreuvage avait été fait sur Lightroom pour Android et avait donné un résultat très bruité avec des aberrations numériques. Celui-ci a été fait sur PC, avec DarkTable et, malgré une compression jpg visible, le résultat est bien plus satisfaisant. Voilà pourquoi je republie cette photo.

This is a very blatant #clickbait and common #misconception:

Simple things like:

  • paid sick leave
  • paid vacation leave
  • paid parental (!!!) (not just maternal) leave
  • healthcare insurance

  • pension / retirement plan
    ...

  • In the #US, gross salaries are only higher because it's WAY MORE EXPENSIVE to get the same "perks", because #ForProfitHealthcare exists and noone gets paid vacay per law, so everyone has to cut that.

#Solidarity-based systems make things way cheaper, and people won't demand 6-digit salaries when they have to spend like 10% of their salary just to downpay a #car in a #CarCentric #suburban shithole but have excellent #PublicTransport at affordable rates right at their doorstep!

I originally planned to finally make the trek down south to visit @benbrown's favorite coffee shop and check out some zines, but it's hella (crazy!) windy here today and it looks like most of the seating at that place is outside, so I think I'm gonna postpone until tomorrow.

So, I instead decided to inject a little bit of #solarpunk #urbanism in my run-of-the-mill #suburban #cyberpunk #dystopian life and walk the quarter mile or so to a local coffee shop in the hopes that it would not be packed as per yoosh. Figured I'd save some carbon emissions while also getting in a tiny lil' bit of exercise while going nomad for an hour or two.

At least this way I won't have to fight traffic or destroy the environment while I'm gettin' my walkabout tendencies satisfied. But I will say that today is one o' them days when I really kinda wish that I lived in a dense walking city like NYC with really good public transportation.

My grandpa captured the Fireworks Galaxy in the middle of May and got almost 5 hours on it! The Fireworks Galaxy is located on the border between the constellations Cepheus and Cygnus. It is a bright, colorful galaxy with a yellowish core, large clusters of blue stars, and many Ha regions (which aren't shown in this image). It's called the 'Fireworks' Galaxy because 10 supernovae have been observed in it over the past century.

70x240s lights (4.67 hours), flats, darks, and biases stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, edited in Siril and background extraction and noise reduction applied with GraXpert.

This discussion & the diagrams are an excellent explanation of why #suburbs are inefficient, create/cause traffic jams & are effectively welfare / subsidized communities tht don’t really serve any purpose other than exclusion. Is also a strain on climate change bc they sap resources (gas, energy, materials, time to go to/from), are less energy efficient etc.
