A remarkable burial has been found in Peru. The burial is that of a high status woman which took place over 5,000 years ago. She was found wrapped in multiple layers of cotton fabric and rush mats and wore a feather headdress. This headress was made of macaw feathers and is the oldest known feather work. Along with her were funerary goods such as weaving tools, a bone needle and sweet potatoes.
