They weren't claymation! This episode explains a few of the tricks. It's amazing that they did this. It's top flight VFX, especially for the 1980s.

I am getting a new respect for those, Xer kids had it different videos.
Apparently their parents left them home alone over the weekend to deal with demons on their own.
Now a days, you could have streamed the album to keep the demons underground... anyone know how to stream albums backward?

If I had a nickel for every time we see a movie with giant multi story monsters where a dog dies and they comes back inexplicably in the climax, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
