I don't think people in general appreciate the "organically grown, then starved as far as is safe" nature of so much of our #infrastructure, and how dependent on it we are for things like cities.
E.g. if we lose a few key pieces of physical infra in a metropolitan area, such as high voltage lines and water plants, it can be unlivable in days.
But what if we lose the economic infra? What happens when the operators of that physical infra can't pay workers?
