The Captain

I love sitting on the banks of the Merced River in Yosemite National Park and just watch the water flow by. From this point of view as can be seen here, El Capitan stands in all its glory rising 3,000 feet above the valley. The gray granite seems to dominate the valley floor and from this perspective it does. See the full image here: pixels.com/featured/the-captai #

The Captain This is an image of El Capiton located in Yosemite National Park. This image was captured from the banks of the Merced River. The Merced River frames the bottom of the image with it's green waters flowing quickly as the water ripples as it flows over submerged rocks and boulders. Above the river is the valley floor lined with various types of pine trees including Spruce and Douglas Firs. Behind the trees is the rock formation known as El Capitan. El Capitan rises 3,000 feet above Yosemite Valley. The granite varies in color from a light tan to gray. Above El Capitan is a partially cloudy sky with big puffy clouds and blue skies.
