She grows all of these on her 1.5 acres property that backs onto a forested park.Japanese chestnuts - these were boil cooked. SunnieThis was my first time working with ube extract, and DANG is that stuff strong! I was incredibly amused to find that when I wiped up some spilled extract with a damp paper towel, it did the same kind of chromatography as my fountain pen inks. It's so pretty! SunnieToday's big project was making myself a crepe cake for my birthday. But not just any crepe cake--a gluten free crepe cake with ube crème pâtissière and butterfly pea flower whipped cream.I have the first stage done, the crepes are stacked with the crème pâtissière (which is delicious) and chilling overnight.
