Palestinian-Iraqi writer and poet Zena Agha read out Hossam Shabat’s final message to open the Palestine Festival of Literature in London on 3 April.
Shabat was killed by Israeli forces on 24 March after being targeted in a vehicle in northern Gaza’s Salah al-Din Street.
He was a journalist for Al-Jazeera and Drop Site News and one of the few who continued to report from the northern part of the enclave throughout the war.
