On the 26th April 2025, we are organising a Trans Rights Protest in response to the recent Supreme Court ruling around the Equality Act.
This is an extremely distressing time for the trans community. So we are asserting that trans women are women, trans men are men, and non binary is valid.
Please see the map of our protest march, from Town Quay Park to Watts Park. March assembly is at 10:45 and departing at 11:00. Marching up High Street, up Above Bar Street, and crossing at the pedestrian crossing to enter Watts Park.
We apologise to the BSL Celebration for our previous plan infringing on their event. We acted quickly to arrange a protest for the trans community before ensuring our finish point was available, and we apologise for volunteers who’s time we have taken up and to anyone going to their BSL Celebration for any worry we had caused.
We will be having speakers and particularly welcome speakers from local LGBT organisations, trade unions who pledge to support trans people as employees and clients/students/patients, and local organisations who also pledge the same welcome arms to trans people. Please reach out of this sounds like you, and @ your trade union, business etc to help get them involved.
