ChiaChatterFeb 9, 2025 @ 10:05 (!) I slept late, and there is a reason for that. Maisie did something this morning she has never done before. She has been at a loss this week as I have had more pain and physical issues than typically and she has been unable to help. Last night I was in pretty rough shape and she just watched me with those huge brown eyes, right next to me, in constant contact, all evening. Early this morning I woke up on my side, with her in Pete's spot, as always...but I had my arm outstretched across "her" side of the bed, and she was laying next to me, her front legs wrapped around my lower arm, and her head on my upper arm, eyes open, watching my face. Even when I woke up, I didn't move because I was so touched...and went back to sleep. She is now laying near the foot of the bed, facing me, watching me type. Leelan is sleeping on "his" day bed in the living room - which converts to his ownership when he is visiting - and Pete brought my laptop to me so I could get started. We had about 4" of snow last night, and it is still snowing. We have an agreement this year, to prevent the need for future disagreements, that if one of us (which is always "we") doesn't feel safe going out then we don't go. That is our rule. So I don't think we will be going anywhere today (we can watch our church service online together, and participate in the chat if we choose to); we can take Leelan home later in the day after the roads have been worked on and are cleared by the road crews and the traffic. (Come to think of it, we may be able to go to evening church! Would be our first time for that.) So that is my morning so far. And I will now go and get the Ain't That The Truth! and Daily Video pages updated and get on with things. I need a momentum handle attached at the shoulders and a counterbalance handle over the shoulders. The person who made my other harnesses can't really do it. I would just reuse an old harness but my current trainee is 100 lbs and none of my equipment for 50-70 lb dogs fits her properly. TIA for any help or suggestions.

LynetteI was recently informed by my building administrator that there is another tenant living in the building who says she has a service dog, and has "papers" for it. It is a 2-yo pitbull, and has attacked a 5-yo child as well as other adults. The staff member wanted to make me aware of the issue. She didn't tell me where the tenant lives, but she did tell me the areas of the building that she frequents with the dog, and what entrance she uses. They are at a loss as how to prove her service dog is fake, which they and I are sure it is. No service dog should attack anyone ever. I decided to do a quick google search just for the heck of it, and although I was very specific, I got a page of results featuring websites that offer service dog certificates. This just proves how easy it is to create fraudulent service dog licenses. If anyone has ideas of who I could tell the building to contact, I'd love to hear them. I did tell the staff member that just being a service dog, whether or not it can be proved that it's legit, doesn't mean the dog can behave any way it wants and it will be protected. It has to be clean and well mannered, otherwise the dog and its handler can be legally removed from an establishment. I've also considered the possibility that maybe there is no legal way out of this, but surely if the license is fraudulent, there must be a way to prove it. <a href="https://caneandable.social/tags/ServiceDog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ServiceDog</a>
