The white hot rage of the Dawn Eye comes. She moves with the glittering, shine of Ra. It is her strength that wields the blades against our enemies. She who is the action of Ra in this world, hear our prayers.

12 March is Feast of the intoxication of lioness deity #Sekhmet. Told by Ra to punish humans, she went on a blood-thirst killing spree until Ra made a lake of beer dyed red and she passed out. Egyptian beer saved us all. Have a beer (or 2) tonight: https://antinousstars.blogspot.com/2025/03/we-celebrate-feast-of-intoxication-of.html

Day 3: Fury
Day4: Celestial
My ibterpretation is the Goddess #Sekhmet bathing the earth in bloid with her fury rage on humanity before the other gods stopped her.
27 May is the Egyptian feast of pacifying #Sekhmet. Her righteous anger earned her the name Lady of Terror. But she was also the patron of doctors as Lady of Life. Her worship was characterized by long prayers and beer binge-drinking to pacify her anger and to seek healing.
@Cat_LeFey I use a specific offering to the goddess every time I address her and it goes like this:
I have a small pitcher and I put some milk in it. I take my finger and dab some of the milk on my skin. Next I pour some red wine into a shot glass and set it on the right of her statue. The milk is on the left. I have a small metal plate and pour a small amount of clean sand onto it. This dish is between the other vessels. I then pour a few drops of the wine onto the sand. Now I can address the goddess.
After we've had our time together I dispose of the offering materials outside and clean my vessels.
This offering represents the transformation of #Sekhmet into #Hathor. Praise the Eyes of Ra! Have a great weekend!

It's the #DayOfAres / Mars' Day / #Tuesday!
For #BlackHistoryMonth, I'm introducing African deities in my daily god toots. #Sekhmet is a warrior goddess of #ancientEgyptian religion. She is said to breathe fire and cause plagues. She acts as the vengeful manifestation of Ra's power, the Eye of #Ra. Once he sent her to destroy mortals but in her bloodlust she would have wiped out humanity had the other gods not dyed beer red as blood so Sekhmet lapped it all up and passed out drunk.
#mythology
a regional form of Sekhmet, the Star Lion. Embracing the winter.
It is II Peret 13 - "Procession of Sekhmet and Her Executioners"
“Do not go out of your house today, on any road. It is the day of the proceeding of Sekhmet of Letopolis. Her great executioners pass by the offerings of Letopolis today.”
May Sekhmet remove all obstacles and destroy harmful influences. My She smite the enemies of Her people, may Her Arrows sharp and swift protect the innocent, the truth, and the way.
Dua Sekhmet!
Dua Netjer!
For some reason over in the beloved dumpster land known as #tumblr this sketch I had done of Sekhmet had gained a lot of traction.
A Deity is something hard to conceptualize and I believe so unique to each person that experiences them.
“Mother of the sun. Fury. Fire. Rage. Yet healing warmth protector. Gold. Carnelian. Lapis. Turquoise. Hot, dry air. Sweet perfumes and dried blood.”
