Anecdotally tons of evidence that #insurance companies are already using third party data ‘services’ to re-identify high risk customers with sweeping data trawls; this is set to get an #AI supercharging.

While I hate #speeders and #roadragers, this is bad #privacylaw, and the #DOJ in its current model looks like they will easily be ‘distracted’ to less well-funded opponents.

#fluConf2025 will feature a track on privacy and surveillance and we're still welcoming submissions. These themes are tightly associated with encrypted communication tools, but we are open to much broader topics as well.

We want to hear about your approach to threat-modeling, or needs that aren't being addressed by existing software. Share your insights into the ever-evolving world of surveillance, adtech, telemetry, and analytics (privacy-friendly or not).

Tell us about the latest research in privacy-enhancing tech, data minimization, and making more usable and accessible encryption tools. Share tips on operational security (especially for marginalized groups). Bust myths about privacy and surveillance legislation, and advocate for how we can organize for better laws.

“Last summer, as women and medical providers began to navigate a landscape without legal protection for abortion, Nancy Davis’ doctors advised her to terminate her pregnancy. The fetus she was carrying had no skull and was expected to die soon after birth.

But doctors in Louisiana, where Davis lived, would not provide the abortion due to a new law banning it throughout pregnancy in most cases.”

This is a prime example of Republicans forcing the government between a person and their doctor. Every conservative should be appalled and reject this by voting for the Democratic candidate in every contest.

Republicans voting against a cap on insulin, or interfering with gender affirming care, are the same issue. #Christofascists attempting to exert state control your most private of decisions - healthcare. It’s obscene and so dangerous.
