But natural dyes... well, weirdly enchanting. It draws you in very gently and smoothly, and soon you don't have a free pot for soup because there is some plant or mushroom in those pots soaking in water with fabric, eggs, paper...

Anyone else here exploring and experimenting with natural dyes (in any form?)

In a lovely AuDHD hyperfocus I managed to sew my 5yo a new dress tonight. After just sewing the shoulders together, I let her try it on and figured the dress would be too small. Luckily, I had some purple fabric that complimented the print, so I made two 4 cm panels in between the side seems. And I added some pockets in the same purple, because why are there still dress patterns without pockets? And then I added some more purple at the bottom, because she wanted a slightly longer dress, and I made the neckline in the same purple fabric. Pretty pleased overall, with my 5th sewing project! Fabric from Hazeltjes.nl, pattern from Onion also bought there.

The common primrose flowers are out. This is the first to flower on my plot. Just in time for Ẽostre. #Equinox #Ostara #Spring

Pale yellow common primrose flowering on an allotment plot. Very subtle colours and all the more beautiful for that. These are dotted throughout along the paths in the nature reserve but this one has found its way to my plot.

Ritual fire to welcome the Spring Equinox, which arrived at 5:01 Eastern Time this morning. This afternoon, I ceremonially burned the Yule wreath I made on this past Winter Solstice, December 21, 2024, as well as the greens-festooned star that decorated my gate during the winter holy days.

I'm so glad that my grown adult kids still take the day off work and school to celebrate the equinox with me, I feel blessed!
