Jen<p>As Fediverse knows odd things...</p><p>Where (UK) can I buy a microscope?</p><p>I don't want to spend a lot, nor do I need anything fancy. Just a step up in quality from the cheap plastic Early Learning Centre one I have.</p><p>Second hand would be perfect. EBay has many, but I've no way of knowing if they're any good.</p><p>In my head, I'm picturing the solid, heavy things I used to use at school. TJYay! Late night work here. Decided to put a petal from the wilting sunflower in the yard under the microscope. Unlike most of the previous microscope shots I've posted here the past few days, this one was lit "through" and not "on" (I use an old microscope and I use a desk lamp to direct the light onto the specimen). I've changed some factors in the whole set, so probably the magnification here is about 320X; 10X for objective, 10X for eyepiece, 3.2X for the camera and lens combination. <br> Done with focus-stacking, but as usual, it's not that smooth (and as you can see, had to crop large areas out). I've stacked around 57 images. Image processing (stacking/stitching) is in place. </p><p>I might also comment or toot about a bazillion other things, anything from computer security to tree felling. </p><p>I live in Norway, where we build routers at Celerway.</p>

I am going to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/3Dprinting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3Dprinting</span></a> it today if there is enough time (my old Ender 3 Pro is slow but reliable). It is a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/parametric" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>parametric</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/model" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>model</span></a> so it can be resized to accommodate other lens tube and detachable lens mounts.</p>

It looked easy on the video. Currently picking pieces of seal out of the tip. Good tweezers and a handheld digital <a href="https://en.osm.town/tags/microscope" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>microscope</span></a> seem essential. It is possible to fool yourself that it’s cleaned out when it’s not. Also, patience.</p>

Attached are the ideograms that's on it, I don't even know if this is japanese of chinese... They told me it is probably the brand "Fujifilm" but the ideograms don't match those of Wikipedia, lol. If you're speaking this language, can you tell me hat's written on it, please ? That would mean so much to me, bc I can't seem to tidy it up &amp; it needs to.
