Plans for the £100m #Liverpool #Baltic station have been approved, paving the way for improved connectivity in one of the city’s most vibrant areas. Set on Merseyrail’s Northern Line in the Baltic Triangle, the new station will feature step-free access, modern facilities, and strong links to active travel networks. Highways work begins in autumn 2025, with station construction starting in early 2026 and opening expected by late 2027. Backed by public support and funded through the City Region Sustainable #Transport Settlement, the project supports Mayor Steve Rotheram’s vision for a fully integrated, London-style transport system. It complements wider improvements including a new train fleet, station upgrades, and future stations at Daresbury, Woodchurch, and Carr Mill. The station aims to cut congestion, support net-zero targets, and boost access to jobs, education, and opportunity across the Liverpool City Region.
