Sculptures on the front of the former Govan Press building on Govan Road in Glasgow. These are: Johannes Gutenberg, who introduced movable type printing to Europe; Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet; Mr and Mrs Cossar, who ran the Govan Press; Walter Scott, one of Scotland's first novelists; William Caxton, who introduced the printing press to Britain.

The Submariners' Memorial in Elder Park in Glasgow. It's principally dedicated to the 32 people who died when the submarine K13 sank during sea trials in the Gare Loch in 1917, including 6 employees from the nearby Fairfield Shipyard where it had been built. Miraculously, 48 of the people who were on board at the time were successfully rescued after some 60 hours trapped at the bottom of the sea.
