Found-PhotosGateway Arch - St. Louis, Missouri. Photographer and date unknown, but it was probably taken in the late 1960s or early 1970s based on the other images on the strip. I did a heavier amount of digital restoration to this image and I thought people might like to see what the scan looked like without any edits. (I am not a professional artist or restorer. I'm certain other people could have done better.) Found-PhotosThis one is interesting, less because of the image and more because of the film. As you can see, it's pretty heavily degraded/damaged and I did not immediately recognize the film format. Turns out it is a strip of early [828 film](<a href="http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/828_film" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/828_film</a>) which was primarily in Kodak's [Bantam](<a href="http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Kodak_Bantam" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Kodak_Bantam</a>) cameras.<br> <br> My guess is that this was taken in the early 1940s, but I could be wrong. Found-PhotosThis is my favorite image from a group of RPPCs (real photo postcards) from Japan I purchased some time ago. It was likely printed in the early 1920s (though may have been taken earlier). The photographer and exact location are unknown.<br> <br> For those who are unfamiliar, real photo postcards are "continuous-tone photographic images" printed directly onto postcard stock. They were a popular way to share photos in the early 20th century and the markings on the card stock can help you narrow down when they were printed: <a href="https://www.playle.com/realphoto/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.playle.com/realphoto/</a><br> <br> If anyone can identify the exact model of the camera in this photo, I would love to know what it is.<br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/photography?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#photography</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/japan?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#japan</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/camera?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#camera</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/rppc?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#rppc</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/postcard?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#postcard</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/foundphoto?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#foundphoto</a>

Found-PhotosHello! This is my first post on <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/pixelfed?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#pixelfed</a>, so I should probably write a bit of an <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/introduction?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#introduction</a>. <br> <br> I collect random negatives and photographs I find at thrift stores, antique shops, garage/estate sales and online. (There is no specific topic I focus on... just anything that catches my eye.) Then I scan them, sometimes do some minor restoration (though damage can also add character), and now I'll post some of them here.<br> <br> It probably goes without saying, but I am not the photographer of anything I post here. In most cases I don't know who the photographer is (or even exactly where/when the photos were taken). I just think it's sad for interesting images to rot away in a box somewhere... or end up in a landfill.<br> <br> For this image, the photographer, location, and date are all unknown. It was scanned from the original 35mm Kodak Gold 200 film and minor restoration was done (scratch/spot removal).<br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/photography?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#photography</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/graffiti?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#graffiti</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/FoundPhoto?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FoundPhoto</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/35mm?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#35mm</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/punk?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#punk</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/peace?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#peace</a>
