  • And in #business cases, where there's a "pay per use" payment structure (i.e. expensive machinery like cranes in #construction get rented per machine runtime & availability onsite per hour and some leased CNC machines) it does make sense to collect telemetry so technicians (who may be onsite or not) get alerted instantly and show up with the correct tooling and parts.

As for #dishwasher|s, even the industrial-grade ones used in canteens of universities or chemical laboratories ain't in such setups:

  • They just have 1-2 "warm spares" hooked up and ready to take over if one machine fails, and they just have the cleaners and janitor regularly maintain them.
