Tochter der Revolution Colettes Kindheit war geprägt von wirtschaftlicher Not und ständigen Umzügen, aber auch von einer familiären Beziehung, die auf Gleichberechtigung und gegenseitiger Unterstützung beruhte. Als 1936 der Bürgerkrieg ausbrach, schloss sich ihre Mutter der Durruti-Kolonne an der <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Aragon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Aragon</a>-Front an und ließ Colette bei einem anarchistischen Genossen zurück.
