propermentalpodcast.podbean.comMental health from a brain's perspective with Dr Dean Burnett | The Proper Mental PodcastWelcome to episode 209 with Dr Dean Burnett, who is a neuroscientist, lecturer and author. Dean is currently an honorary research fellow at Cardiff Psychology School and has also worked as a psychiatry tutor and lecturer at the Cardiff University Centre for Medical Education. He is the author of several acclaimed books about brains, neuroscience, emotions and mental health. And this episode is a little bit different. I wanted to do an episode about mental health and mental illness from the perspective of the human brain. I often focus on society and the things around us that impact our mental health, so for this conversation I wanted get some understanding of what’s actually happening to our brains when our experiences, circumstances or environment are affecting us mentally. I thought a lot about common themes and threads from this show over the years and I asked Dean things like What is happening in the brain when we get lonely and why is isolation so harmful to us? Why do brains like nature so much? How does sitting with our emotions actually help our brains to process them? Why do our brains choose to feel anxious even, when we know that there is nothing to be anxious about? And loads of other stuff too. Dean was incredible to chat to! It was absolutely fascinating to be able to explore his extensive, brain related knowledge and we had a lot of fun too. Facts about #TerahertzRadiation (2/2)

- Your #5G device uses Terahertz Radiation to send thoughts and images right into your brain. To maximize efficacy of this measure, they are actually sending in three different frequency bands; most humans are susceptible to at least two out of those three.

- Terahertz Radiation is addictive; most of us have been exposed to it even while still in the womb, and withdrawal effects include conditions such as #blindness and often leads to #hematomata.

- Terahertz Radiation can be used to cut and burn away almost any material, including steel.

- Few people know that Thomas #Edison's main goal was to connect all homes in the USA to a direct control grid for Terahertz Radiation emitters. Due to Nikola #Tesla's involvement in the matter, efficiency of this control grid could be vastly improved, leading to the current state.

- Thanks to an astonishingly effective marketing campaign, most homes worldwide now contain a device that, based on control signals by government and other entities, sends out pulsed Terahertz Radiation and air pressure waves at the same time, aiming at the #brains of the people to control their actions.

Facebook can read your mind! (but only if you want it to)

theneuroscienceofeverydaylife.

Facebook/Meta is the latest organisation to claim they can use AI to 'read minds' via brain activity. But both such claims and the fearful reactions seriously overlook how tricky the brain makes this.

Dean Burnett's latest post looks at how neuroscientific misunderstandings lead to dubious media coverage.
