Interesting read: "An open letter to graduate students and other procrastinators: it’s time to write"
#WritersCoffeeClub Apr 6: Do you edit while writing, or go wild and fix it later?
I lean towards editing during the process. I go over each section several times, but I also know I'm headed for major revisions in the second draft.
#WordWeavers Apr 6. SC POV: Are you capable of killing a person?
"Well, I haven't actually been in a real fight yet, so you know, I'm part of the strategy! I hang back and make sure the target doesn't get away. So yeah, I don't know! I don't know."
#PennedPossibilities #Writing 636 Are your characters superstitious?
Nah. It's a pretty rationalist/materialist culture.
And here it is. Someone might read it here and subscribe - you never know!

—500 years?
—Yes.
—How is that possible? Aren't your computers like the most powerful in the multiverse?
—Yes, and we've been unable to break the Doc's security. And those aren't "my" computers, dumbass.
—I don't believe you.
—Don't believe me. Your choice. But the fact is that we can't change the defaults, so get used to your new body because you won't get the old back.
—I don't want it.
—It's not so bad. In time you'll like it. Trust me.
—Can't
—Good
#PennedPossibilities #Writing 636 Are your characters superstitious?
Yes but no but yes. They know most of the legends behind all superstitions are somehow real things. They live in the house of a Crazy Aztec Goddess™, and have meet some deities they used to believe were myths. That can make it hard to believe in most superstitions, until you realize that those tales are backed by real events and people. Then you can believe and/or fear them. Or not. You chose…>=)
#WritersCoffeeClub #Writing 6 Do you edit while writing, or go wild and fix it later?
Nope. My 1st drafts are full of errors, typos, etc., and I won't edit anything there. All edits come in the 2nd, when I transfer the thing from the notebook(s) where it was born to the computer, where it will take form…=)
2025 has been the worst year ever (for me anyway) to try to get any #writing done, but I managed to put in over 8 hours at it yesterday.
Just ~800 more hours to go....
#WordWeavers #Writing 6 SC POV: Are you capable of killing a person?
—Ever been in such a bad mood that makes you say "I want to kill somebody"? Well, when that happens to me, and that happens all the time, I *DO* kill people, and I can do it with extreme violence. Best part is that I get very well paid for it, and there will be less drugs in the streets after. Everyone wins. So, in summary, yes. I'm more than capable of killing a person. The more the better, in fact…

#WritersCoffeeClub Apr 6: Do you edit while #writing, or go wild and fix it later?
I edit continuously. I will start a session by editing what I wrote the last time, and I'll often be rereading sections (to keep things consistent, to rework when I need to improve setup for some later event, etc.) and I tweak and edit as I go. By the time I'm done, the 'polish pass' is usually pretty fast.

A life of chronic sickness
both of body and of mind.
I am thirsting for some witness
to let my soul unwind.
All alone in a house
of prayerful solitude,
a baptistery to douse
my inner thirsty mood.
6 Apr: Do you edit while writing, or go wild and fix it later?
If I didn't edit as I go I wouldn't edit at all.
