The strikingly <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/colorful" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>colorful</span></a> species is the only representative of its <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/genus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>genus</span></a>. It hunts smaller vertebrates and prefers carrion. At <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/carrion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>carrion</span></a> sites they successfully drive away other vultures.
