#Hannukah

So, we decided to invite a few friends over for #latkes and #Chanukah celebration. That’s a 10 lb bag of potatoes and another of onions from #Costco. Yes, a little pandering if you saw the post of mine that blew up on the text based platforms. Anyway, I hope your holidays are going well, whichever you celebrate. So happy holidays, chag sameach. Happy kwanza. Just have a great weekend. More woodworking coming really soon. #chanukkah #hannukah

Time for the other Hannukah debate besides sour cream and apple sauce (and that answer is sour cream, you applesauce wasting heathens).

Why do you think #Hannukah eight nights?

As @jmccyoung reports, The Jewish Publication Society (distributed by the University of Nebraska Press) is holding their annual #Hannukah sale (40% off) through January 3, 2025 (for US and Canadian orders only) with code 6CH24.

Many great books for those interested in #religion and #Judaism, including books for children.

For those interested in those things + #history, I draw your attention to _The Life of Glückel of Hameln_, a memoir written by a Jewish woman who was a wife, mother, merchant, and prominent member in the Jewish community of seventeenth-century Hamburg. In her autobiography, Glueckel intersperses reflections on her family's strategies, difficulties, and relationships with stories of intolerance, betrayal, and love.

TLDR: Is there a good jazz album of Hannukah songs?

75% of my #piano students are Jewish, and I was raised... well, not especially religiously, but my family as a whole is Greek Orthodox. When Christmas comes around, I LOVE getting my students into Xmas songs, but I can't do that with my Jewish students. I just don't have the background in that music. And the Dreidel song... well it can get old. There's got to be more.

So can anyone recommend an album of #Hannukah songs done in a jazz style? Sort of the equivalent of Guaraldi's "Charlie Brown Christmas?" I feel I'd absorb the music better if it was done in that style.
