My first ever <a href="https://mas.to/tags/LeijiMatsumoto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LeijiMatsumoto</span></a> work. Followed someone's filler guide, so I skipped a bunch of episodes here and there, but I'll definitely check out the rest at some point.</p><p>Great characters, interesting scenarios, and something to say. Mr B<p><a href="https://urusai.social/tags/GalaxyExpress999" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GalaxyExpress999</span></a> is actually probably the most like <a href="https://urusai.social/tags/StarTrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StarTrek</span></a> (TOS, TNG, Voyager, and SNW at least) of the space anime I know in being episodic sci-fi where they go to a place, things happen, there's usually some moralization, and the recurring characters get in their vehicle and leave. However, Galaxy Express is consistently bleak and seems to speak about doing what you must to survive even if everything, including you, is a monster, while Star Trek sees the monster, comes to understand the monster, and gives the monster what it needs to not be a monster making the galaxy better.</p>
