For purely selfish reasons, I really want to see this fund. And by purely selfish, I mean I want to see an adventure with a mound full of draugr of different CR as monsters, and I like the setting.

I've got an interview with @LouAnders coming up in a few weeks on @GnomeStew's Gnomecast, and I'd love to see this fund before that comes out, because it will make me feel less guilty about not scheduling the interview earlier.

OMG what a #DND5e session yesterday! My character, a level 9 Drow/Tiefling (with 7 levels of Swashbuckler Rogue and 2 levels of Warlock) went off on a solitary side quest that had been ordered by their fiendish patron: to kill their criminal contact, Dariznin.

Idurru, as my character is named, had hatched a perfect plan. In a previous session, before Idurru's patron had given them this order, they had already stolen, just for the heck of it, a precious dagger from Dariznin's library - an assassin's dagger with one charge of ancient green dragon poison that would deal 22d6 poison damage... The perfect murder weapon for this task!

First, Idurru used Disguise Self (coming from Tiefling ancestral magic) to look like another criminal of the same organization as Dariznin in order to get close to him without being identified as themself. Then, they showed Dariznin his dagger that had gone missing, holding it in their off-hand. At the same time, they produced their trusty +1 magic dagger in their right hand and stabbed Dariznin with it, using their Clockwork Amulet to get an automatic 19 to hit. It would have hit, but Dariznin used a reaction to parry the blow, raising his AC for one attack. This kind of shenanigans was calculated, so as a bonus action, Idurru attacked with their off-hand, using their Lucky Coin to gain advantage.

I rolled a 1 and a 2.

The following four rounds, I missed
every single attack with epically bad dice rolls, while Dariznin methodically chipped away at me. Idurru went down, and on the icy hellish planes that were home to their patron, and from which their own Glasya ancestors hailed, they met their patron.

Now, I had planned to take a level of Rogue for my upcoming level-up... But in order to get help from my patron, I had to offer something... So I proposed to make a pact - so mechanically, the next level-up will now be my 3rd level of Warlock, which comes with a pact.

Idurru woke up with half their hitpoints. Dariznin had his back turned to them. The poison dagger was lying 10 feet away. Idurru silently crawled towards the dagger, picked it up, stood up, bonus action dash, attacked Dariznin in the back with the poison dagger. Roll with advantage because Dariznin didn't see or hear me coming.

I ROLLED A 1 and a 2.

So yet another dogged struggle ensued. Dariznin got a hit in on Idurru.
Idurru again missed both strikes in the next round. Dariznin got another hit in.

And then.

Finally.

The poison dagger found purchase.

1d4 piercing + 4d6 Sneak Attack + 22d6 poison + 4

All tallied, 103 hit points of damage.

Dariznin was instantly killed.

This definitely was the most intense
#TTRPG fight I've ever been in. The dice really do tell the story. Because now going forward, instead of trying to wriggle away from their fiendish patron as I had planned, Idurru will be moving more tightly into their patron's grip. I can't wait for the next session in two weeks!
