Morning sweet ones 💕

I'm still working out (inventing) a point to having three Mastodon accounts. Trans joy for transfem.social is easy. But beige.party (not a cult)? I think, with a 11001 character limit, that'll be for long-winded weirdness. But toot.wales will always remain my everyday. For local, community, walks, nature, cameraderie and cats

Love you all dearly. Here is a stonechat that was chirping prettily to me, as I ambled home yesterday evening 💕😘🥰 #birdsofmastodon #Cymru

Our Lady, Star of the Sea & St. Winifride (RC) church, Amlwch, Anglesey. The only other example I've seen is in Lima, Peru.

It is mostly concrete, including the ribs, which have design and material flaws, long leading to a leaking roof, though restored and reopened in 2011. In 2021, it was closed again due to continued structural problems.

"To every LGBT+ comrade, know you are not alone. The revolution will be built by all of us, or it will serve none of us. This is not the time for quiet outrage or legal appeals. This is the time for mass mobilisation, for direct action, for solidarity that does not waver. The British state has made their position clear. Now we must make ours."

North Wales is a dystopian tourist hell today.

All very sad: everybody causing traffic chaos, parking nightmares, just to take an 'Insta' shot and then leave, often dumping their rubbish on the ground behind them.

Three more years, and I'm out of here. It's become a very, very sick joke.

Up & at 'em today, Roath Market's lure trounced the gloomy weather.

First stop, Lahmacun for a flavour-filled wild garlic flatbread with date & olive paste which we ate greedily on-site. Walked home with a haul of Pasta a Casa's Sicilian arancini & panella, a family-style West African meal from Mami Maggie's Recipes & Lahmacun's upside-down blood orange cake & rhubarb & rose Bakewell tart.

That's a wrap on a busy training week in Eryri. One (1) day of good weather and 5 of wind and rain. I trained 4 days out of 6, with 2 rest days (enforced by the weather, but probably a good idea.)

I seconded some grade 2 and 3 scrambles in the Glyderau as part of a course. It was my first time at this grade and made trickier due to weather conditions and greasy rock. (Routes completed: Idwal Buttress on Glyder Fawr, Chimney Crack on Tryfan Bach, Bastow Buttress Variant and North Tower on Tryfan, plus some grade 1 gullies in descent).

Challenging but highly enjoyable. I also solo ran/hiked/scrambled the Snowdon Horseshoe route, my first time up Crib Goch.

I'd wanted to do two more classic horseshoes (Cwm Bochlywd, Carneddau Southern Ridges), but strong winds and heavy rain looked like too much risk. So I swapped in a low level run around the Ogwen Valley to get some elevation in on rough mountain terrain, with a bit of grade 1 scrambling up False Gribin too.

Happy Easter! This year, if you're taking a break in Eryri, don't be one of the very many idiots who throws their picnic waste on the ground in the expectation it will miraculously vanish of its own accord.

Respect the environment. Respect Wales.

I hope you enjoy this wash fold I captured today, because it was the hardest walk through the most awful terrain I've ever undertaken!

Some past, not very good studies have suggested round forms indicate building over prehistoric structures, but this is invariably not the case.

Rounder enclosures instead just cause less panic in sheep and are often easier to build when the stone supply is limited.

Greetings! Can I interest you in a heartwarming donation and/or signal boost of this small Welsh town volunteer-organised Pride festival?

Pride is deeply needed in rural Wales, where being queer can be so isolating. And since it's only small, you get a lot of bang for your buck - 16% of the £750 goal has been raised already. :)

Last year was our first Pride (Balchder in Welsh), and thanks to signal boosts on Mastodon and Tumblr it was fully funded within 24 hours, it was EPIC and the organisers were so chuffed that they COULD NOT EVEN.
