This latest update is failing to start because of a DB issue.The github has some notes about this being a problem in previous versions where the software is trying to do an unnecessary database migration.The first response in the gtihub issue was "go to the Discord" 😒 but someone else posted the Discord content in github.It would be easier to just run this in a docker container instead of building it locally, but I don't want to migrate it yet.There was also an issue with the new version ballooning in size where a directory went from 300 MB to 1.8GB because of yarn modules.

Except that1) vanguard often doesn't sync successfully and needs re-auth 2) apple card sync never worked after syncing once...... 3) the envelope budgeting just doesn't work for me. Who needs <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/YNAB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#YNAB</a> ? 2) Sage is bringing home takeaway Mexican food.3) Tailwind on the way home from work today. Maintained 25+ km/hr much of the time with moderate effort. Of course I did prepay for that by riding into the same wind this morning. (Also it's really silly but there's one cyclist I only seem to see when there's a headwind. Go figure)

EddSlightly different Blog Post today, where I've written about automatically backing up Actual Budget. Its different in that this is intended to be a guide for somewhat less technical users than me (Actual appears to be many user's 'My First Self-hosting Experience', so that's how I've tried to pitch it). I've moved my config to Windows, and changed the storage backend to Google Drive, as apparently most users don't have 24/7 backup machines, and self-hosted nextcloud instances. Weird that. I've also gone into way more detail on every command than I usually would, so hopefully it's useful to more people.Anyway, if that sounds useful to you, give it a read. Rob Carlson :ally: :BLM:My wife and I sat down to plan out February's budget today. I've been priming Actual Budget with our categories and spending for January so we'd have something to talk about and a view of our spending. Not only did she find the interface super intuitive but liked the concept of envelope budgeting on the big screen and how we could plan ahead for travel and summer camps for the kids by saving incrementally every month.
