Hi! I'm a very occasional animator living in the Pacific Northwest, USA. I sometimes use DaVinci Resolve in my work life to edit live-action videos. Since I have it anyway, I'm currently using it to make simplistic animations. I might eventually switch to a more appropriate tool.

I'll probably post an animation here a couple of times per year.

I found the early film "The Town Rat and the Country Rat" on YouTube. It was made in France in 1926 or 1927 by pioneering Russian-born Ladislas Starevich.

I can't find a version with English titles, but you shouldn't have much trouble following the plot. It's here on YouTube:

Here is Starevich's Wikipedia page:

I'm researching for a possible project. I came across this modern "inspired by" retelling of a legend of . It's aimed at modern kids, so you have to look past that. It's otherwise very good.

Attention fans:

Is anybody interested in a "book club", except we get together on video chat and discuss classic ?

I'm thinking the shorts to start, although I'm open to suggestions.

This would probably be on a weeknight, a couple of times per month.

Boosts and feedback appreciated!

Here is Technicolor Refreshment Trailer No. 1, produced for Filmack Studios by Dave Fleischer. Released in 1957.

In 2000, it was added to the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

I just rediscovered One Rat Short by Alex Weil. It won Best of Show at SIGGRAPH 2006. It doesn't dazzle by modern standards, but it has rats!

Here's a TV commercial I made last year for a public access cable TV show.
