Been working on illustrations of 9 of my main OCs. One representative of each part of an alignment chart! I've never finished an illustration of all of them together because a few of them lacked finished character designs until now. Gainsboro's design has changed most sharply.

Do You guys know "Pixar in a Box" ? khanacademy.org/partner-conten
Those are free online courses about various fields useful for animation, where Pixar artists share their experience. I discovered it for the cool storytelling course (the activities are the best part ! I actually learned stuff about myself ?!), but I did color science yesterday and it was pretty neat too.

It took me forever to remember how to find the Public Hashtag Page, which was described in the latest Mastodon 2.7 update, but not linked (blog.joinmastodon.org/2019/01/).

If you were also wondering how to find the Public Hashtag Page, here's an example with the "art" tag: mastodon.art/tags/art

If you're looking for a page for a specific tag on mastodon.art, change "art" in that URL for your desired word/hashtag.

Spiderman : Into the Spiderverse won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature !
Here's a cool video explaining what makes it's animation so special ! youtu.be/jEXUG_vN540

I love concept art and rough sketches. There’s often more movement and expression in them than what ends up on the screen.

Just finished watching 'Liz and the Blue Bird' and its a great film.

Visually it's amazing and a sure sign that digital tools can make traditional animation really shine. Musically, you will need your ears tuned since its forms a major element of the plot.

Yet it's the story and the characters that stand out. This is not your average film, and takes its time exploring the incredibly complex entity that is a personal relationship between friends.

Highly recommended.

Here’s an original storyboard drawing used in the production of the movie Balto. In this scene, the town carpenter is making coffins for the children dying of diphtheria. There was a lot of emotion in this scene in the film and I feel like it really comes through, even in the storyboard.

Hello yes sorry I'm not dead I'm just swamped with keeping up with the weekly comics schedule while world-building and finally cracking out the details of this mega story. Here's some stuff I've done or looked at so far #mastoart
