For #pridemonth we're celebrating #LGBTQ #animation and this week, it's characters.
The original intent was to highlight some iconic LGBTQ characters but time got away from me. So instead, I thought we could look at the types of characters instead: confirmed, coded, and ambiguous.

LGBTQ characters that are confirmed are more and more common. More so than that, they treat their orientation in a matter of fact way, like its normal.
Shows like Kipo and The Owl House don't shy away from their queer characters but also don't rely on their orientation as a crutch for tropes or jokes like so many shows have done in the past.
