One of the challenges for new users and users migrating from corporate social networks to the fediverse is that it can seem a lot quieter or slower. This of course, is a feature and part of its appeal. It does however take time to grasp and in a world if instant gratification, plenty of new arrivals aren't give much of a reason to hang around: especially if most of their current circle doesn't follow suit.
