Hello! My name is Palmer. I'm a generalist, living and working in West Jordan, Utah, USA. I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in animation from Columbus College of Art & Design in 2016. You can see my portfolio, demo reel, and résumé at

I animate using on a refurbished HP Z400 workstation running /Linux, and a 20-inch Yiynova tablet monitor. I love drawing with lots of squash, stretch, smears, and multiples.

“The way to learn to draw is by drawing. People who make art must not merely know about it. [...] A scientist may know all about aeronautics without being able to handle an airplane. It is only by flying that he can develop the senses for flying. If I were asked what one thing more than any other would teach a student how to draw, I should answer, ‘Drawing — incessantly, furiously, painstakingly drawing.’”
—Kimon Nicolaides, The Natural Way to Draw

I always smile to myself when I see the logo for this animation studio.

What color is the bag in the logo?

Crumbs in my face mask. A very 2020 problem.

These children’s drawings are great. I also like the way the drawings were animated for this article.

RIP Mort Drucker. Spent a lot of hours on my best friend’s front porch reading Mad Magazine TV & movie spoofs drawn by him.

Just got the image editor 0.1.2 update from Flathub. Looking good! @glimpse

Dang. One of my earliest theater experiences was West Side Story. I would love to see this new, very contemporary version.

Bonus toot: You don’t have to haul freight or race on an oval track to call yourself a driver. You’re a swimmer as soon as you get in the water, whether you compete for medals or not. And all you have to do to be an artist is to make something.

It was just pointed out to me that The Iron Giant was released 20 years ago this month.
